Friday Flash Back

This is my Husband and I at a 110th anniversary party of his college fraternity. This weekend marks the 120th anniversary so we need to get an updated photo of how we have changed over the years!

In this photo we were still teens! It is so funny to look back at this because I remember thinking that was the best time of my life, but I really had no idea that in four years I would be married to this man and in eight years God would bless us with our first child!

Very happy and realizing THIS is the BEST time of my life! I love being a Mother and I wouldn't trade the wrinkles and older appearance for the way my life is right now. I might get down about certain things that life sends me BUT when I really sit to reflect I realize my many many blessings!!!

Happy 120th GC and most importantly thank you God for the best time of my life now!!!

The Eyes Have IT

I just recently started playing around with false lashes and I love them. Granted I get my playtime in around either 2PM or more likely 2AM, but they really do make a BIG difference!!! I also do not wear them around all the time either but I do plan on wearing them to my college reunion party because it helps with "true", "real", and amazing beauty! Plus of course the illusion of being more awake!!! :) Just to show you what I mean here is my eye before and after respectively. I used whispies from target with duo glue. If you are interested in watching how to do this a good tool I used was YouTube it has tons of videos on how to DIY.

STEPS I USED:
1. Do your eye makeup exactly like you want it even put on eye liner and mascara on your natural lashes
2. Get out the false lashes set the tray upside down so the lashes will go on the correct eye - you will know which eye is goes on because if you put it up to your eye it should curl up and normally the inner portion of the lash has shorter hairs
3. Put the fake lash up to your eye to see if you need to cut off the outer edge if it is too long for your eye. You can use any sharpe scissors
4. Flex the lashes to loosen them up a little by wiggling them around
5. Apply a thin layer of glue to the already sticky part make sure you get the ends good that is where it will come off if you don't do it correctly
6. Let the glue dry a little like 30 seconds
7. Lay it as close as your lash line as you can get it and pinch it or wiggle it into place where you think it looks good
8. Let it dry then you can put more mascara on by gentle wiggling the brush through both fake and natural lashes
9. HAVE FUN!!

Here are mine, the first photo is before and last two are after:

Beauty School Drop Out

The truth is that I never went to beauty school, but I was in pageants plus modeled a little in my former years!!  Doing all of that really did teach me how to create an illusion of looking a little better than the normal me - if I really put the time and effort in.  At this time I am starting to put the time in because I have a big "reunion" of sorts coming up soon!  All of you can relate that at some point you want to look great even when you are not feeling like you look great at all.  Right now I am in a Mommy beauty rut because I am in the stage in life where raising my sweet baby and thinking about the second baby is in my mind.  BUT with all of that said this is what I do to look better remember if it is a quick fix it will only create an illusion not really fix the problems that you have with the way you look!

1 Month to event or before that for better results:
- EXERCISE =  I LOVE to hit the gym but even better for me is going to a 4-5 mile run outside which is FREE (no membership required)!  *** Quick way to look like you have lost weight is to purchase SPANX they are wonderful! ***
- PLAN LIFE = What I mean by this is try to get on a "diet" (really dislike that word) that you can do for your entire life not just for this event!
- SHOP = This is a hard one for me because I REALLY do not like to shop, but I needed something that wouldn't scream I've been under a rock for 3 years!  AND if you are like me and shop online it might take some time to get in what you want!
- TREAT YOUR SKIN = I have always had skin that I have to work with constantly so I start about a month before an event to pick out my makeup and get facials!  *** Quick way to have nice skin is with makeup (don't pile it on) but great makeup really does make a difference try Makeup forever HD or Dinair makeup here is a tutorial on how to do a great look even if you are not going to a wedding it is a nice natural look!

- TREAT YOUR NAILS = Nails need love too and my favorite is gel nails they are the best hands down for me and the best part is that you can do your own at home and they look professional, BUT I would go pro for at least the first appointment to get your nails really cleaned up!

2 weeks till event:
- ACCESSORIES = Get everything you will need for the outfits that you have picked (shoes, Jewry, underwear, and so on) *** Better bra fit can help you look a little better plus again here get some SPAX even if you look as slim as you want to look they just smooth everything out***
- GET TAN = Go to the salon and get tan or order this awesome self tanner called St Tropez!  Don't forget to get you some latex gloves though so it will not stain your hands!  *** If you find a great air brush tan it is better than the booth or the self tanner because with contouring you can even give the illusion you are slimmer and have better cleavage ***

- GET WAXED = If you are like me you really dislike to have hairs out of order especially your eye brows and arms! Get ripped :) it only hurts for a little while if you go to the right person!
- PLAY = Try different makeup looks and hair looks if you are doing it yourself OR go to a professional and let them try a few looks!

1 week till event:
- PACK = Make sure you have all of your personal items if you are going somewhere to get to the event even if you are just going to the prom you need to make sure you have a few items in a bag to take for touch ups on your makeup or hair
- RELAX = Go to the spa and relax with a massage, get another spray tan if the practice run went well, get your nails done again, and just take a deep breath!  If you are on a budget and cannot go to the spa OR a mom like me who doesn't have time do an at home spa get a few LUSH bath bombs it is just as good as a massage in my opinion!

Day of event:
ENJOY!!!

:) Prayers for a successful event for you :)

More Cleanerific Tips

1. To sanitize and clean your dish washing sponge place it in your top rack of your dishwasher with your dishes!

2. Purchase a swiffer duster they are the BEST tools to get high hard to reach places such as the blades on your fans or the baseboards behind your bed!! http://www.swiffer.com/products/swiffer-dusters-extender

3. Especially during spring cleaning time remember to get the Dawn dish soap out and get all of your trash cans clean then let them air dry before putting a new bag in to prevent Smell and mold!

Happy Spring cleaning day!!!

Cleaning Tip of the day - Microwave

Tip: To clean your microwave put a cup of water into a microwave safe glass bowl and heat it till it boils. Do not open the door till you see the steam has made the door a little wet looking. Finally open it and wipe out the microwave with a towel! It really gets anything in there to come off easy! You might then want to take out the glass dish and hand wash it but if you just wanted to quick clean this is the trick! Also as a side note you can use that hot water to clean something else like I do when I clean off my cook top with it!

Happy cleaning!!!

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on It's WAY

I love Spring and all the festival of pastel colors that you can do anything with.  Now that I am a stay at home Mother I LOVE IT even more because of fun little kid crafts with my baby.  I might even like them more than he does at this point, but he was so excited to see them it might be a tie for who likes them the most!  Here are some of the fun things that we created thus far:

Our Easter Crafts some of the ideas I got from Martha Stewart and others I got from family fun site!  From Left to right we have bunny enevelopes for our Easter cards, in the middle top a little Easter chick with hand wings, middle bottom our bunny mask, then on the right some spring flowers we are going to put outside whenever it stops raining!

Another thing we LOVE to do is to sing and dance.  We sing all the time and we focus on fun holiday songs during each one!  Our fav Easter song is Here comes Peter Cottontail

More later, but enjoy my sweet little bunny!!! :)
This is my little bunny :)
